Deva: A Smart Mystery That Stumbles

Deva, streaming on Netflix, has an intelligent and intriguing premise—memory loss complicating a murder mystery—but the execution lacks intensity. Shahid Kapoor shines in action-packed sequences but isn’t fully explored as the lead. Pooja Hegde is underutilized, while the supporting cast does a fair job. The stretched middle dampens the suspense, and while the climax surprises, tighter storytelling and deeper character exploration could have elevated the film. This Bollywood remake of Mumbai Police leaves you wondering if the original was the better version. Watchable, but not gripping enough.
