HUNKKAAR:THEROAR

Image
Image - YouTube Hunkkaar: The Roar Review – A Detailed Social Thriller Intro:  Hunkkaar: The Roar  is a 2026 Hindi socio-thriller and courtroom drama directed by Karan D. Kapadia, Heeraz Marfatia and Nitya Mehra. The series stars Aneet Padda, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Raghubir Yadav, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Arjun Mathur. It follows a 17-year-old survivor seeking justice against a powerful godman. The series premiered on JioHotstar on 25 September 2026. Review (90 Words):  I like it when a series takes me somewhere I haven't seen often, and  Hunkkaar  does that with Orchha. It also starts right from the word go, with the first episode being the strongest for me. The direction is detailed, and the background score does a great job with both tension and silence. The courtroom portions are handled well, and the performances are consistently good. Raghubir Yadav deserves a special mention for a completely different avatar. The episodes are long and pacing becomes an iss...

Narsimha

Image - Prime Video Narsimha Review – A Typical 90s Action Drama Intro:  Narsimha  is a 1991 Hindi action drama written, directed and produced by N. Chandra. Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia play the lead roles, with Om Puri, Urmila Matondkar, Ravi Behl and Shafi Inamdar in supporting roles. The film is currently streaming on Prime Video. Review (90 Words):  Narsimha  is a typical 90s Bollywood action drama, built around a powerful goon, his network and the man who eventually refuses to follow his orders. Narsimha works for Bapji and carries out his killings until he is asked to murder Ravi. He refuses, changing the course of the story. I remember this film more for Om Puri as Bapji than for Sunny Deol as Narsimha. His performance gives the character a menace that stayed with me. For me, this is one of those 90s films I remember more for its villain than its hero. #Narsimha #NarsimhaReview #SunnyDeol #DimpleKapadia #OmPuri #90sBollywood #HindiMovies #BollywoodAction #Ac...

SHAQUE:TRUSTNOONE

Image
Image - YouTube Shaque: Trust No One Review – Good Idea, Too Many Plots Intro:  Shaque: Trust No One  is a 2026 Hindi mystery thriller created and directed by Rensil D'Silva. The Netflix series features Parineeti Chopra, Jennifer Winget, Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Tahir Raj Bhasin and Sumeet Vyas in key roles. The seven-episode series premiered on Netflix on 24 September 2026. Review (90 Words): The basic plot of  Shaque: Trust No One  was enough to keep me interested. There was a good story somewhere in there, and the cast also gave the series enough promise. But adding two more subplots diluted the main story for me. Instead of making the mystery more interesting, they stretched the series and took away some of the impact. I did like the episode length, though. At around 30–40 minutes each, the episodes were easy to watch. With fewer plots and tighter writing, I think this could have been a much better thriller. #ShaqueTrustNoOne #ShaqueReview #Netflix #Netflix...

IRUMUDI

Image
Image - YouTube Irumudi Review – A Different Father-Daughter Story Intro:  Irumudi  is a 2026 Telugu action thriller written and directed by Shiva Nirvana. The film stars Ravi Teja, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Sai Kumar and Baby Nakshathra. Set against a village backdrop, the story brings together family emotions, a father-daughter relationship and the Ayyappa Deeksha. The film is currently streaming on Netflix. Review (90 Words):   Irumudi  is another father-daughter story, but in a very different setting from  Piku  or  Gargi . Here, the village backdrop gives the relationship a completely different feel. The story looks at two fathers and the way each of them raises his daughter. I liked this aspect of the film, especially when the personal and social sides of the story come together. The emotional portions work in bits and pieces, and there are some good moments. The length, however, remains a challenge. Overall, it is a decent family drama with ...

TABBAR

Image
Image - YouTube Tabbar Review – An Immersive Family Thriller Intro:  Tabbar  is a Hindi-Punjabi thriller series created by Harman Wadala and directed by Ajitpal Singh. The SonyLIV series premiered in 2021 and features Pavan Malhotra, Supriya Pathak, Kanwaljit Singh, Ranvir Shorey, Gagan Arora and Sahil Mehta in key roles. The story revolves around a family caught in a situation that gradually changes everything around them. Review (90 Words):   Tabbar   turned out to be an immersive eight-episode thriller for me. What I liked most was how the series keeps building tension without rushing the story. The family remains at the centre of everything, and every new situation makes you more curious about what happens next. It is dark, intense and at times quite unsettling, but that works well for the story. The performances add a lot to the experience, and the overall mood keeps you hooked. There are very few moments where you feel like stepping away. For me, this was a ver...

VIBE

Image
Image - YouTube Vibe Review – A Fun Spy Comedy That Loses Its Vibe Later Intro:  Vibe  is a 2026 Hindi spy comedy written and directed by Kunal Khemu, who also plays the lead. The film features Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava and debutant Vanshika Dhir in important roles. Released in theatres on 18 September 2026, the film takes the familiar spy genre and gives it a comic twist. Review (90 Words): I picked up  Vibe  because I had recently enjoyed Kunal Khemu in  Single Papa , which was one of the better comedy watches for me. So I was curious about his new film. A spy comedy is also a bold choice when spy thrillers are everywhere. The first half is genuinely funny, and I could hear people laughing in the theatre. But somewhere around the second half, the film loses its rhythm. It slows down and the comedy isn't as consistent. Still, I appreciate the attempt and would say it is a decent OTT watch. Full Review: I picked up  Vibe  mainly because of Kuna...

SinglePapa

Image
Image - YouTube Single Papa Review – A Light and Fun Family Watch Introduction:   Single Papa  is a 2025 Hindi comedy-drama series created by Neeraj Udhwani and Ishita Moitra for Netflix. Kunal Khemu plays Gaurav Gehlot, a man who unexpectedly steps into fatherhood after an adoption. The series also features Manoj Pahwa, Ayesha Raza Mishra and Prajakta Koli. Review (90 Words): After watching so many crime and cop shows,  Single Papa  felt like a nice change. It is light, fun and easy to watch. Kunal Khemu is easily the highlight for me. What I liked most was how comfortable and natural he looked while cracking jokes and handling the chaos around him. The show has its share of messy and stretched moments, but I didn't mind them too much. There are enough funny scenes and emotional moments to keep you going. Nothing groundbreaking, but a warm, clean family watch that works well for a relaxed evening. #SinglePapa #SinglePapaReview #KunalKhemu #Netflix #NetflixIndia #Hi...

WAITINGHAI

Image
Image - YouTube Waiting Hai Review – Great Cast, But the Writing Keeps You Waiting Introduction:   Waiting Hai  is a 2026 Hindi crime drama directed by Sameer Vidwans and released on Amazon MX Player. The series stars Divyenndu, Bhuvan Arora, Kumud Mishra, Harshita Gaur and Sunita Rajwar. Set around the world of Tatkal railway ticket booking, the series mixes crime, technology, ambition and small-town characters. Review (90 Words): With Divyenndu, Kumud Mishra and Sunita Rajwar in the cast, I expected much more from  Waiting Hai . The concept is interesting, but because it is already familiar, the writing needed to be really tight to keep me engaged. The performances are fine, but they cannot completely save the pace or weak writing. A few songs and sub-stories also felt unnecessary. There are some funny moments, especially Divyenndu doing what he does best, but overall I felt the seven episodes were stretched. Four or five episodes could probably have made this a better...

YOURHONOR

Image
Image - YouTube Your Honor Review – When a Judge Breaks the Law for His Son Intro:  Your Honor   is a Hindi crime thriller series directed by Eeshwar Nivas and adapted from the Israeli series   Kvodo . Jimmy Sheirgill plays Judge Bishan Khosla, whose life changes after his son becomes involved in a hit-and-run case. The series explores family, law, crime and the choices people make when the two come into conflict. The first season released in 2020, followed by Season 2 in 2021, both streaming on SonyLIV. Review(90 Words):  I liked both seasons of  Your Honor . What starts with a judge trying to protect his son slowly turns into a much bigger mess involving crime, gangs, police and the law. Jimmy Sheirgill is excellent, but Mita Vashisht really stands out for me. I liked how the series keeps putting its characters in situations where family and professional duty don't easily go together. Season 2 continues the story well and gives enough twists to keep you...

PAPAYAAR

Image
Image - Netflix Papa Yaar Review – Zakir Khan Makes You Laugh, Feel and Remember Intro:  Papa Yaar  is a 2026 stand-up comedy special by Zakir Khan, built around his childhood memories, growing-up years and his relationship with his father. Running for around 70 minutes, the special mixes comedy, storytelling and emotion as Zakir looks at the many shades of a father-son relationship.  Papa Yaar  is streaming on Netflix. Review (90 Words):  These days, so many movies and series are about murders, horror, revenge and things going wrong. So   Papa Yaar   felt like a breath of fresh air. Zakir Khan takes very ordinary father-son moments and makes them spectacular. He makes you laugh, but somewhere along the way, you also feel a lot. I liked how he picks up one joke, leaves it, and brings it back later in a completely new structure — sometimes two or three times — and somehow makes it even funnier. And those credits! Seeing both his mother and father's name...

UDAIPURFILES

Image
Image - YouTube Udaipur Files Review – A Bad Film Built Around a Shocking True Story Intro:  Udaipur Files: Kanhaiya Lal Tailor Murder  is a 2025 Hindi crime drama inspired by the 2022 murder of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal Sahu. Vijay Raaz plays Kanhaiya Lal, with Rajneesh Duggal and Preeti Jhangiani in key roles. The film attempts to turn the real-life case into a crime and political drama and is now available on Jio Hotstar. Review (90 Words):  I picked up   Udaipur Files   because I was curious about the real incident behind it. But what a bad film. Even Vijay Raaz couldn't make me sit through it comfortably. The story has enough material for a gripping crime drama, but the writing and execution don't work for me. It keeps jumping between different tracks without building any real impact. And then there are three songs — honestly, what are they doing in this film? The real incident is disturbing enough. The film doesn't add much to it. Just skip it. #UdaipurF...

TheHousemaid

Image
The Housemaid Review – A Reasonable Twist After a Long Wait Intro:  The Housemaid  is a 2025 psychological thriller directed by Paul Feig and adapted from Freida McFadden's bestselling novel. Sydney Sweeney plays Millie, a young woman who takes a live-in housemaid job with a wealthy family, where things quickly become far more complicated than they appear. Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar also star. The film is available on Prime Video.  Review (90 Words):  I liked   The Housemaid , though I felt the runtime was a little too long. The film takes its time building the story, and just when you think you have figured out what is happening, it gives you a reasonable twist. That worked for me. The problem is that it drags slightly before getting to the wild final act.  Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried both keep the film interesting, especially as the story gets crazier.  Overall, it is an entertaining psychological thriller with enough twists to keep y...

BLOODSACRIFICE

Image
Image - Netflix Blood Sacrifice Review – A Tense Mystery That Loses Steam Intro:  Blood Sacrifice  is a 2026 Swedish crime thriller series created by George Kay and directed by Kristoffer Nyholm. The five-episode Netflix series follows a father and son who get involved in the investigation of a gruesome serial killer. The series combines a dark Nordic setting with a family relationship at the centre of the investigation. Review (90 Words):   I liked  Blood Sacrifice  overall. It gets tense at times, and the father-son angle in the story worked well for me. The investigation kept me interested, particularly in the earlier episodes, where the mystery develops nicely. But the series is certainly stretched. Some portions could have been shorter and tighter. My bigger issue was the conclusion. After taking its time to build the mystery, the ending felt rushed to me. So, while I enjoyed the dark atmosphere and the investigation, the final part didn't give me the ...

DRIDAM

Image
Image - YouTube Dridam Review – A Slow Burn With a Different Ending Intro:  Dridam  is a 2026 Malayalam crime thriller directed by Martin Joseph, with Shane Nigam in the lead role. The film unfolds around a crime investigation and gradually builds towards its final act. It is currently streaming on JioHotstar. Review (90 Words):  The first few minutes of   Dridam   give you some good scenes and make you curious about where the story is heading. But then the film settles into a slow-burn pace, and I wasn't engaged throughout. What worked for me is that the story, especially the conclusion, feels different from what I expected. The final stretch brings a shift in momentum and gives the film some much-needed impact. The small-town setting also adds to the mood. Overall, I found it interesting in parts, but for me, it may be a one-time watch. #Dridam #DridamReview #ShaneNigam #MalayalamCinema #MalayalamMovie #CrimeThriller #JioHotstar #MovieReview #IndianCinema #Slo...

Gargi

Image
Image - SonyLiv Gargi Review – A Disturbing Story That Makes You Think Intro:  Gargi  is a 2022 Tamil legal drama directed and co-written by Gautham Ramachandran, with Sai Pallavi playing the lead role. The film revolves around Gargi and her struggle with a case that brings her face-to-face with questions around crime, justice and society. It is currently streaming on SonyLIV. Review (90 Words):  Gargi   has a running time of 2 hours and 10 minutes, but the film keeps you engaged for most of it — though not comfortably. There is a constant feeling of anxiety and discomfort while watching it. I think almost everything works here — the direction, acting, writing and even the background score, which adds to the tension. The way the different stories connect is also handled well. It is a disturbing film and the way it concludes takes the story somewhere unexpected. Even the title feels apt — Gargi means a wise woman who makes others think. Review:  Some films...

GHAMASAAN

Image
Image - YouTube Ghamasaan Review – High Expectations, Low Impact Intro:  Ghamasaan  is a 2026 Hindi crime drama directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and based on the life and world of dacoit Dadua. The film stars Pratik Gandhi, Arshad Warsi, Rajpal Yadav and Ishita Dutta in key roles. It released on ZEE5 on 11 September 2026. Review (90 Words):  Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and starring Arshad Warsi and Pratik Gandhi — this was an easy picking for me. But as they say, you are doomed when you have high expectations.   Ghamasaan   has the right ingredients and some good sequences, but somehow doesn't come together as strongly as I expected. The beginning takes time, and the middle portions feel stretched. There is enough action, but the excitement doesn't stay for long. For me, this is not among Tigmanshu Dhulia's better films. Watch it, but keep your expectations low. #Ghamasaan #GhamasaanReview #TigmanshuDhulia #PratikGandhi #ArshadWarsi #RajpalYadav #HindiCinema #Crime...

NewDelhiTimes

Image
Image - YouTube New Delhi Times Review – A 40-Year-Old Film That Still Feels Relevant Intro:  New Delhi Times  is a 1986 Hindi political thriller directed by Ramesh Sharma and written by Gulzar. Shashi Kapoor plays Vikas Pande, a newspaper editor who finds himself caught in a political investigation that goes much deeper than it first appears. The film also stars Sharmila Tagore, Om Puri and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. Review:  I watched   New Delhi Times   on YouTube and honestly, this is a must-watch. Made almost 40 years ago, the film still feels surprisingly relevant. What I liked most is how tightly the story is written. There is very little unnecessary drama, and for nearly two hours, the film keeps you involved. The performances are another strong point, with Shashi Kapoor leading the way and the supporting cast doing equally well. It is not the kind of old film you watch only for nostalgia. The subject still makes you think. Full Review:  Some films belon...

THERUNNER

Image
Image - YouTube The Runner Review – Always Running, But Never Quite Gets There Intro:  The Runner  is a 2026 British action thriller directed by Kevin Macdonald, starring Gal Gadot, Damian Lewis and Alfred Enoch. The film follows a London-based prosecutor who is forced into a race against time when her son is abducted. It is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Review (90 Words): I watched  The Runner  immediately after  Gandhari , and both have a somewhat similar basic idea. This one works marginally better for me. The concept is still interesting, and at least the film keeps moving — almost literally from one twist to another. But I felt that revealing a little more along the way could have made the story easier to connect with. The biggest issue is the characters. We don't really get enough time to understand them beyond what the plot needs. It is short, fast and watchable, but don't expect much depth. #TheRunner #TheRunnerReview #GalGadot #PrimeVideo ...

GANDHARI

Image
Gandhari Review – A Film I Struggled to Finish Intro:  Gandhari  is a 2026 Hindi action thriller directed by Devashish Makhija and written and produced by Kanika Dhillon. The film stars Taapsee Pannu, Ishwak Singh, Chhaya Kadam, Swastika Mukherjee and Mita Vashisht. It premiered on Netflix on September 3, 2026. Review (90 Words):  I like films that get to the point within the first few minutes, and Gandhari seemed to be heading that way. Unfortunately, I soon struggled to stay with it. So much so that a film I expected to finish quickly took me more than a day. The story has a promising setup, but the execution never really worked for me. Taapsee Pannu tries to carry the film, while actors like Mita Vashisht and Prashant Narayan feel completely wasted. For me, Gandhari is a film I would simply say — don’t watch it. #Gandhari #GandhariReview #TaapseePannu #Netflix #HindiMovies #MovieReview #Bollywood #ActionThriller #TheFilmiAngle

BANDAR

Image
Image - YouTube Bandar (2025) Review – Lord Bobby Shines in This Uncomfortable Anurag Kashyap Film Intro:  Bandar , also released internationally as   Monkey in a Cage , is a Hindi crime thriller directed by Anurag Kashyap and written by Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee. Inspired by a real-life incident, the film stars Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra, Sapna Pabbi, Saba Azad and Raj B. Shetty. It is currently streaming on ZEE5. Review (90 Words):  I always have high expectations from an Anurag Kashyap film, and  Bandar  didn't quite reach that level for me. But the detailing is impressive and the acting is even better. Bobby Deol is outstanding, and the supporting cast also deserves attention. I watched it a few days before writing this because I wanted to process the film, and I even went back to a few scenes. The police station scene reminded me of  Ugly . The film is slow, and that may test your patience, but it also feels deliberate. Watch it withou...

UGLY

Image
Image - YouTube Title:  Ugly (2013) Review – Dark, Disturbing and Definitely a One-Time Watch Intro:  Ugly  is a 2013 Hindi thriller written, directed and co-produced by Anurag Kashyap. The film features Rahul Bhat, Ronit Roy, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Vineet Kumar Singh, Girish Kulkarni and Surveen Chawla. It is currently streaming on JioHotstar. Review (90 Words):  Ugly  is one of those films where you know you are watching something dark, but you still keep going because you want to know how far it will go. Anurag Kashyap creates a disturbing world where almost every character has a shade of grey. The performances feel real, and the story keeps you engaged without trying to make things comfortable. I liked the film, though the ending did not leave me completely satisfied. The journey was stronger than the destination for me. Still, definitely a one-time watch if you enjoy intense Hindi thrillers. #Ugly #UglyMovie #UglyReview #AnuragKashyap #JioHotstar #HindiThrill...

INTHEGREY

Title:   In the Grey (2026) Review – Stylish Action, But Not Enough Tension Intro:  In the Grey  is a 2026 action thriller written and directed by Guy Ritchie. Starring Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal and Eiza González, the Prime Video film follows a team trying to recover a billion-dollar debt from a criminal organisation. Image - YoutTube Review (90 Words): The intriguing title and Jake Gyllenhaal were enough for me to pick up  In the Grey . The film has some good detailing, especially in the way its action scenes are put together. But I felt a little more pace could have kept me engaged throughout. The story revolves around recovering a billion-dollar fortune, but it feels fairly superficial and doesn't create enough tension. I also didn't find the villain particularly threatening. Having said that, the final rescue sequence is definitely worth watching. Not a bad action thriller, but I expected a little more from it. #InTheGrey #InTheGreyReview #GuyRitchie #JakeGyl...
