Ohh My Dog Review — Two Journeys, One Beautiful Bond
Intro: Ohh My Dog is a 2026 Hindi drama written and directed by Amit Rai, who also directed OMG 2. The film stars Pankaj Tripathi, Rajesh Kumar, Pawan Malhotra and Geeta Agarwal Sharma, with dogs playing an important part in the story. It is currently streaming on Netflix.
Review (90 Words): Amit Rai, who wrote and directed OMG 2, could easily have made Ohh My Dog as OMG 3! The film follows two parallel stories — Oscar trying to rescue Prince in Patna and Appu trying to rescue Momo in Assam. You will smile, you may cry, but you will be happy by the end. I particularly liked how the background score changes with both journeys. Appu's mother tying a knot in her saree is another lovely emotional touch. A little stretched, yes, but still a must watch. It also reminded me of 777 Charlie.
Full Review: Amit Rai wrote and directed OMG 2. And after watching Ohh My Dog, I honestly felt this could easily be OMG 3.
Not because the stories are similar, but because once again, he takes a simple idea and builds a film around a larger human emotion.
And somewhere while watching it, I noticed something quite interesting about the title.
DOG and GOD are the same alphabets, just rearranged.
I won't read too much into it, but considering how much faith, love and loyalty the film connects with its central relationship, it did make me smile.
The film revolves around two parallel stories.
In Patna, Oscar is trying to rescue Prince.
In Assam, Appu is trying to rescue Momo.
Two children. Two dogs. Two different journeys.
But both stories are ultimately about the same thing — the determination to bring someone you love back home.
This parallel storytelling worked well for me. I particularly liked how the background score changes with the two journeys. The musical treatment gives each story its own identity while keeping the emotional thread intact.
There are also some lovely little details.
Appu's mother tying a knot in her saree is one such moment. It is a very simple action, but it works as an emotional anchor — something familiar that quietly tells you how much hope and worry the character is carrying.
And the film takes you through quite a range of emotions.
You will smile.
You may cry.
And by the end, you will be happy.
That worked for me.
Yes, I felt the film was a little stretched in places. Some portions could have moved faster. But the emotional journey kept me invested.
It also reminded me of 777 Charlie, where the relationship between a human and a dog becomes much bigger than simply a story about a pet.
What I liked about Ohh My Dog is that it doesn't try to make things too complicated. It is a warm, emotional story about children, dogs, family and the lengths people will go to for someone they love.
For me, this is a must-watch.
Not because it is perfect.
But because sometimes a simple story, told with enough heart, is enough.
There is also a dialogue from Paatal Lok that came back to me while watching this film — if a man loves a dog, he is a good man, and if a dog loves a man, he is a good man.
