Despite a fully loaded cast and intriguing premise, *The Wedding Guest* falls flat. Not a family or romantic drama as the title may suggest, it’s a subdued thriller. Jay (Dev Patel) kidnaps Samira (Radhika Apte) from her wedding for his employer and secret boyfriend, Deepesh (Jim Sarbh), crossing borders in a convoluted escape plan. The first act grips as the action kicks off, but it starts fizzling out later. Performances are solid, but the film lacks the excitement it promises, leaving viewers disappointed rather than thrilled.
