Manvat Murders, streaming on Sony Liv and based on Ramakant S. Kulkarni’s book Footprints on the Sands of Crime, recounts the chilling 1970s case that shook India. Directed by Ashish Avinash Bende, this 8-episode series has all the right elements for a gripping thriller—mystery, murder, occult practices, and a police investigation. While it takes time to set up, it delivers well in parts. With strong performances and a faithful adaptation, Manvat Murders may not be mind-blowing, but it’s worth watching for its portrayal of a gruesome crime.
