Narsimha Review – A Typical 90s Action Drama

Intro: Narsimha is a 1991 Hindi action drama written, directed and produced by N. Chandra. Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia play the lead roles, with Om Puri, Urmila Matondkar, Ravi Behl and Shafi Inamdar in supporting roles. The film is currently streaming on Prime Video.

Review (90 Words): Narsimha is a typical 90s Bollywood action drama, built around a powerful goon, his network and the man who eventually refuses to follow his orders. Narsimha works for Bapji and carries out his killings until he is asked to murder Ravi. He refuses, changing the course of the story. I remember this film more for Om Puri as Bapji than for Sunny Deol as Narsimha. His performance gives the character a menace that stayed with me. For me, this is one of those 90s films I remember more for its villain than its hero.
